Submission Process
All entries must be submitted through our official website. Simply create an account, select your categories, and upload your images in accordance with the submission guidelines below.

•Watermarks: Not permitted
Yes, photographs that have previously won awards or been published are eligible for submission, provided you retain full copyright and the images meet our submission guidelines. You may also submit photos currently entered in other ongoing competitions.
No, you can submit as many images as you like, across multiple categories.
•The fee for the first photo is €25.
•Each additional photo receives an automatic 10% discount.
•A single photo can be entered into multiple categories, with an additional fee of €10 per category.
If you have a promo code, you can enter it separately during checkout to receive an additional discount.
You are welcome to submit as many photos as you like and select as many categories as you feel best suit your work.
Once submitted, entries cannot be updated or changed. However, you may withdraw a submission by contacting us before the judging process begins.

Yes, you can enter the same image in different categories if it fits the criteria for each category.
Yes, you retain full ownership of your photographs. By submitting your work, you grant Berlin Photo Awards the right to use your images for promotional purposes, including displaying winning photos on our website, sharing them on social media, and other related promotional activities. We will always name the photographer of the photos displayed. This way we ensure the most benefit for you, as it will increase your exposure, recognition, and visibility.
If you have any questions, or would like to place specific limitations on how your photo is used, please contact us in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
All entries will be carefully reviewed by an international panel of expert judges, including esteemed photographers, curators, and industry professionals. Each image will be assessed based on three key criteria: creativity, originality, and technical excellence. Judges will score each entry on a scale of 1 to 100 points, and the total score for each entry will be the sum of the individual ratings from all judges. The entry with the highest total score will be declared the winner.
In the unlikely event of a tie, the judges will deliberate further to select a winner based on overall impact and adherence to competition criteria.
To ensure fairness and impartiality, the judging process is conducted anonymously. The photographers’ names are hidden during evaluation, and judges are not able to see the scores or feedback of their fellow panel members. Additionally, judges are strictly prohibited from entering the competition themselves.
The winners will be announced on April 27, 2025 on the Berlin Photo Awards website and notified via email.
Win up to €2,000 in cash prizes. Photographer of the Year receives €1,000 in prize money. Main category winners receive €250 each. All winners are receive official certificates, and digital badges of recognition. They gain international acclaim, enhanced visibility, and valuable opportunities for career advancement within the photography industry. Additionally winners receive vouchers from our sponsors.
Prize money will be sent to winners via PayPal or Banktransfer.
We encourage creative submissions, but images must not contain offensive, defamatory, or inappropriate content. By entering, you confirm that you hold the copyright to your images and that no third-party rights are infringed. Participants are responsible for securing any necessary permissions, and any claims made by third parties are the sole responsibility of the participant. The Berlin Photo Awards cannot be held liable for such claims.
As this is a photography competition—not a digital art competition—images generated entirely by artificial intelligence are not accepted and will be disqualified. However, AI editing tools (such as object removal, masking, etc., available in software like Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop) are permitted, provided the image originates from a photograph taken with a real camera and is not artificially generated.
The Berlin Photo Awards reserves the right to disqualify entries that violate these guidelines.
